Lunch with the girls

Today I was a lucky mom. Kim had forgotten her cell when she came this morning. So she said she was trying to come up with an activity to do up towards her house. So I suggested the mall and lunch with me. It was perfect. We went to "Hot Dog on a Stick" and had my favorite "memory meal". When I was little, I remember going to the mall and eating at the Corn Dog Factory. We'd get the cheese on a sticks and have ketchup and mustard to dip it in. It was always a very special treat and one that I'm happy to share with my girls.

Of course at the SouthTowne mall you also get to do the Carousel. The girls absolutely loved it. Ivy kept saying "up and down". Unfortunately, we didn't have the camera, so our phones had to do. As you can tell, the quality is suffering. But the pictures still show pretty happy girls.

Cupcakes for Dinner?

For April Fool's Day the Sanford family enjoyed cupcakes for dinner. Mine didn't turn out nearly as pretty, but I also used my own meatloaf recipe. I know my kids like mine, and I wasn't so sure about their actual recipe.

Jade was a little confused about cupcakes for dinner, but she caught on pretty quick that the frosting was mashed potatoes.

RockBand for FHE

One Monday night, we decided to have a RockBand Party. We called it "Family Home Evening" but, we forgot to have a lesson. The kids enjoyed a movie in our bed.

As if we hadn't had enough fun for one saturday....

Jade has been wanting to decorate cookies for awhile now. I had purchased a bunch of decorating stuff when we went on our trip, but the bag of goodies had been forgotten. Over the past several years I have gotten some great decorating kits from Williams-Sonoma. Rather than going to all of the effort to make cookies and a huge mess for my two girls, we invited the boys to come over (and Grandma and Grandpa, of course). The kids had an absolute blast. I didn't include the multiple pictures of each child licking their fingers.

We went to Baskin Robbins where the two bigs had a "date" and the rest of us sat at another table.

Celebrating 30 years at the Bean Museum

While Scott was zooming through the Sand Dunes, and Kat and Jon were biking through St George, Grandpa, Grandma and I took the 4 angels to the Bean Museum. It is amazing to me that we have been going to the Bean Museum since I was only 6 years old! Hogle Zoo sent down some live animals for the celebration (and they had Cake- of which we did not partake). There is a great exhibit right in the center of the main gallery.

In the first picture, the kids are looking at the lions in amazement. The second picture, the kids are admiring the "smog" millipede. The three in the picture touched it, the one missing- didn't. Ivy is always happy to smile at the camera, no matter the situation.

In the third picture, the four were following the turtle. I missed what kind it was, but it was really cool. After that, Luke said hi to the bearded dragon, and then the celebration was over. But before we left, everyone got a sticky lizard.

The Bean Museum turns 30

I wanted to show the sign from the 30th Anniversary as a stepping stone into the post with the kids from the event. :) (There's the brief explanation for the picture that didn't have any text with it).

Is it possible to get a good picture of 4 kids at once?

The answer to that question is a resounding NO!!!!!

My Drive to Work- March 27th

When I left my house, the sky was blue and I needed sunglasses. Once I hit the point of the mountain, this is what I saw. You can tell by the cars in our parking lot it had been going for awhile. I guess the blizzard just hit Utah County. So much for SPRING!

Family Home Evening

I'm sure you all know about this site.. http://ldslivingmagazine.com/subs/show/6 but I had forgotten about it and came across it again this morning. It really is fantastic. My girls are still a little young to benefit from a lesson this complex, but he still gives really good ideas. In fact, it even gives treat recipes.

This same website gives lesson helps if you are in Sunday School, Primary, Young Men's or Young Women's. When I taught YW, I would go to this site a lot, plus I purchased some lesson CD's from Deseret Book that really added a lot.

Ivy's Hunt

Ivy's hunt was a little shorter and easier than Jade's. One on the patio and the other in the grass.

Ivy ended her hunt a little earlier because she was cold and tired.

Nothing more exciting than finding those eggs!

Time to count and see how many we have left to find.

The girls got a little cold doing their hunt but they had a really good time.
