Torn...

When placed with a tough decision, and you don't feel like either answer will be well received by all parties, how do you decide?

Look how fun!

My friend, Jenny, sent me this sweet picture of her adorable baby girl. She has 2 girls about the same age as mine. Now she's having her third girl. Right now she is 32 weeks and weighs 4 lbs 2 oz. So adorable. Jen will never be to church on time. Three little curly haired girls to get ready! I think if she makes it by the second block I'd be impressed.

Hopefully, in a couple of weeks, I'll be able to post similar pictures of my little sister's third baby. Question is, will it be a third boy or a first girl??

Our Nanny is auditioning for Idol!!!

Everyone wish Miss Kim luck!
UPDATE: Sadly Miss Kim did not make it in front of Simon, Randy and Paula this year. Better luck next year! We're proud of her for trying and glad she had fun doing it.

Zucchini and Chicken Kabobs

A bit of windy fireworks...

Jade's been asking us to do some fireworks, so tonight we did. It was an extremely windy evening and it rained pretty hard for a little while, so the roads were a bit damp. The wind kept blowing out the lighters so Scott got my kitchen torch and the fireworks would light. Jade loved it, and even got to light one. Ivy on the other hand sat there shaking and saying that they were scary and she didn't want to do any more. Poor little girl. It reminded me of our miniature schnauzers and how they used to curl in a ball and shake for the days leading up to the 4th of July and for several days following. It's odd, because Ivy really enjoyed them back on the 4th. Hmm, funny girls. Thanks dad for lighting the fireworks for us. It was well worth the 10$!

Jade and her hot date...

Tonight my friend Kim came over to bring me a yummy treat of Milk Duds (my favorite). [Thanks Kim!] Tyson, her 5 year old son came over with her. He came in his cute little jeep. It was just like my little girl was getting picked up for her first date. She's all grins when Tyson comes over. They went for a ride around the neighborhood. It was very cute. He even took her little sister for a ride. It's a darn good thing these kids are too young to be exclusive. Jade would be jealous if she knew about Tyson's crush on Aubrey.

I missed my calling in life..

If I had a medical license, it wouldn't have been revoked. I did break my foot after all.

Yesterday I went and had another round of X-rays and guess what? IT IS BROKEN!!!! No wonder I can't put weight on my foot yet. So, now I'm headed down to the doctor to get a splint on it. A splint? What is that going to be like? Don't worry, I'll take pictures when I get back.

Have a great day!
Update: I will have this plaster splint on for the next 3-4 weeks and then a walking boot (if I can put weight on it by then) for 3-4 more weeks.

One last Lagoon post...

For those of you wondering how on earth I did Lagoon with my foot, here is your answer....

I sat in the shade as often as I could, I wheeled myself around the park, was pushed by my youngest, took a conference call, did a lot of emails, rested with my foot on many fences and enjoyed watching the girls giggle and smile.

There are a few things that I learned...
1. People are extremely rude. I was shocked at how few or how slowly people would move so a wheelchair could fit through.
2. People stare at someone in a wheelchair like they are a freak
3. Clothing stores and gift shops are not designed to accommodate people in wheelchairs
4. If you see someone in a wheelchair wheeling themselves up a hill, it is okay to ask if they would like some help. It is not okay to ask them stupid questions so that they lose their momentum. It is not okay to stand and watch them.

Novell's Lagoon Day..

This week was Novell's Lagoon Day Summer Party. Novell is so large that they actually split up their Lagoon days by department. Scott's brother, Trevor, works for NTS (Novell Technical Services) so we decided to change our tickets to go with NTS rather than with Scott's team. Grandpa Bob's company also does a Lagoon day, so he was able to use his tickets to go with us as well. We also had Scott's sister, Kristal, and her kids join us. It was a great Sanford family activity. This is something that we have had planned for too many weeks to let my foot get in the way of the girls having a lot of fun. Fortunately, my parents (actually my aunt and uncle) still had my grandma's wheelchair. Yes, it's true. I got to do Lagoon in a wheelchair. If my foot would have been feeling any better, I could have enjoyed it and used the wheelchair to butt to the front of the line. It didn't so I didn't do the rides. The group had a great time- despite the heat.

Are we having fun yet?

These two kids had a hard time remembering to smile. It's pretty darn cute, but do you think they are having fun? Ivy said she was.
They were having fun, I promise.
Somewhere in there there is a smile.

As soon as she got off this ride she said, "That was fun!" Can't you see the excitement in her face!

Serious drivers.
Checking out the sights from way up high.

No question here about who is having fun...

It's absolutely no surprise that Jade thoroughly loved Lagoon. Every ride she could go on she enjoyed. It's so fun to see her relaxed and having fun. Sure, she's still 5 and we had some moments of pouting, but not as many as on a normal day.

I don't think we could count how many times Jade went on the Tilt-a-Whirl

Once was enough for this ride- mostly because Dad was soaked.
Rattlesnake Rapids - Ivy is hiding in Dad's arm.
That is one happy little girl!

So, Amy, how is your foot?

Well, let me tell you- I'm done with this whole foot thing. I'm calling TOSH today to see about getting in with them. My foot just doesn't feel like it's healing correctly. It is hurting half way up my shin and if I try and put weight on it, it hurts clear up to my knee. The strange thing is that I typically have a very high tolerance for pain. I'd rather do natural labor all over again than do this.

Well, there's the update on the foot. (Sorry, Mom, still no pedicure).
